This camp will be led by Niki Miller, Head Coach of Wagner College (DI) Field Hockey, Jennifer Eden, Assistant Coach of Ramapo College (DIII) Field Hockey & Jenny Tafro, Head Coach of Ramapo College (DIII) Field Hockey!

Falcon Field Hockey Club is excited to announce we will be running a Preseason Camp this summer!
**This training session is open to all U16 & U19 (Ages 13-18) girls & boys from any town. Training will focus on individual stick skills, decision making, proper body positioning, outletting, 3-D skills, & 1v1 situations. Players will be grouped by age/ability.
There will be separate instruction for goalies.
Each session will end with small games/scrimmages for players to demonstrate the skills they learn each day.
**This is an excellent opportunity to get DI & DIII level training & get preseason ready!**
**ONE YEAR OF PLAYING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CAMP!**

ABOUT OUR COACHES
Coach Miller is entering her second season as the head coach of Wagner College's newly-added field hockey program 2020, after completing her first season.Under Miller's leadership, freshman Hannah Meyer finished third in the NEC in points per game (1.31) and earned the season's final rookie of the week of offensive player of the week honors following a four-goal performance in the season-ending 5-0 win over conference member Merrimack. Miller, a native of Washington, NJ, comes to Grymes Hill by way of Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Sacred Heart University, where she served as an assistant coach for the field hockey team under head coach Sydney Van Der Merwe for the last two seasons. During her tenure with the Pioneers, Miller oversaw the teams' offensive development, implementing strategies for practices and games, resulting in a 62.5% increase in goals from 2017 to 2018. She also played a pivotal role in off-campus recruiting, successfully attracting more than 10 commitments from high school athletes. At Sacred Heart, Miller played an integral role on a coaching staff that placed heavy emphasis on academics, resulting in a high level of performance by Pioneer student-athletes' in the classroom, achieving the second-highest overall GPA in NCAA Division I Field Hockey. Twenty of her 24 student-athletes would earn National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Team honors. Miller's field hockey background includes serving as a head coach for both the USA Field Hockey Futures and Fairfield County United Field Hockey Club teams. Her main goal with both of these organizations was to help develop young players and prepare them for the next level of field hockey. Three of her athletes from the USA Field Hockey Futures went on to attend the USA Field Hockey Juniors national camp. Prior to embarking on her collegiate coaching career, Miller was a standout field hockey athlete at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. In her time there, she helped lead the Minutemen team to three Atlantic 10 Championships and three NCAA Tournament berths, having reached the Sweet 16 twice and the Elite 8 once. She was appointed captain of the team her junior and senior seasons and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team in her final season.
Coach Tafro is a former two time All American at Montclair State University & holds numerous Red Hawk records. In 2013, she was named NJAC midfielder of the year and was an integral part of the Red Hawks capturing the conference crown in 2012 & 2013. Coach Tafro earned three NJAC First Team All-Conference honors and was also selected for the NJHCA South Atlantic First Team All-Region. In 2017, Ramapo College named Tafro the Head Coach of the field hockey team & she has been an essential part of the programs recent success. She has her USA Level I and II Field Hockey Coaching Accreditation & coaches for the USA Futures Program.
Coach Eden played field hockey at Montclair State University. As a Red Hawk, she played defense and midfield for the team. Coach Eden was an integral part of a successful senior year in 2003. That year Montclair State field hockey qualified for NCAA tournament for the first time in the program's history. Coach Eden was awarded the student-athlete award by the NCAA, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 GPA or higher. Coach Eden graduated from MSU with her Master’s in Education along with a Bachelor’s in History and Sociology. Eden is currently an Assistant Coach at Ramapo College.
She has been coaching field hockey for 15 years, and most recently was the head coach of field hockey and lacrosse at Northern Valley Demarest before joining the staff at Northern Highlands.
She has been a significant part of the recent success of the Northern Highlands field hockey team, who were co-league champs in 2017 and in 2018 were county and league champions. In 2018, Coach Eden opened Falcon Athletics with the goal of providing club teams, leagues, clinics, and equipment to the North Jersey area for girls & boys of all ages. She has her USA Level I and II Field Hockey Coaching Accreditation & coaches for the USA Futures Program. Coach Eden is also Safe Sport Training certified as well as CPR & AED trained.
Coach Bennet was a four-year starter in the cage at Fairfield University. As a senior and captain she started 20 games in cage for Fairfield. Bennett posted a 2.34 goals against average, 116 saves, and a .703 save percentage. Bennett was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season. She finishes her career having played the third most games among all Fairfield goalkeepers with 71 games and the second most wins with 32. She also posted a .451 winning percentage in her four years along with 377 total saves and five shutouts, all ranking in the Top Five in program history. After graduation Coach Bennet spent one year at Sacred Heart University as a volunteer goaltender coach. In 2019, The University of Pennsylvania added Bennet as the team's new goaltender coach. Most recently in the summer of 2020, Bennet was appointed as the new assistant coach of Wagner College.

Goalkeepers must bring their own protective equipment as well. If athletes are not properly equipped they will not be allowed to play.
